AEG’s SMS and Email Notification system (AEG-Notify)
This is a Notification Application designed to
automate sending notification messages to the bank’s clients about
certain SWIFT performed transactions and messages acknowledgment via
SMS or E-mail. The bank specifies in the configuration table the
account number and name of the customer, the message type to be
notified, the notification text to be sent and type of notification
by SMS or E-mail.
Messages sent and acknowledged or messages
received from SWIFT will be checked against the configuration table
and decided whether a notification will be sent to the customer or
not.
AEG-Notification is one of the AEG Plug-In
applications developed using the SWIFT Application Development
Toolkit (ADK), to access the Alliance Access Interface in real-time
mode and retrieve the necessary information.
The implementation of this application will save the bank unnecessary
manual work to handle customer’s requests and at the same time offer
a highly appreciated service to them.

Application Components
The application consists of:
Module with GUI interface to build and manage
the configuration parameters of the system, which include the
type of message to be checked and notified, the name and A/C
number of the customer receiving the notification, the mobile
phone number and e-mail address of the customer, the mail and
SMS server and the template of SMS to be sent.
An ADK component performs the necessary
checks by reading SWIFT messages, extracting the required
information, comparing it with the configuration parameters and
deciding whether to send or not and how to send and where
Another component to handle the process of
sending the information to the client and if necessary copies of
the message via SMS and E-mails.
Once a payment message is sent or received successfully, a network
acknowledgment is received by the Alliance Interface, the
application checks the configuration parameters and sends the
required notification. A log file can be consulted to check for
errors and for sent notifications.
Departmental Notification
The AEG-Notify supports also Department and
Branch notifications. Messages belonging to certain units or
branches and meeting specified criteria will be sent to a specified
department or branch e-mail.
SMS and E-mail Service
This component handles the process of sending
the notifications using SMS and/or E-mails to the customers eligible
for the notification. It can be also fully integrated with the
back-office system. It requires:
Connecting the application server to the
internet in order to send emails
Connecting the application server to a mobile
phone in order to send SMS directly or to the internet in order
to send SMS through an Internet Gateway
Operator and Access Security
Security is an important issue of the
application. Only authorized users with the right roles and
permission can have access to the configuration parameters (to view
it and amend it) and to the system to monitor its behavior and the
process flow.
Events Logging
An event log keeps track of successful and
unsuccessful events and of errors that occurred during the execution
of the application. It can be consulted by authorized users.
Application Platform
AEG-Notify runs on the Alliance Access system
in real-time mode. It uses the SWIFT Application Development Toolkit
(ADK Runtime) component. The application can be installed on the
same machine of the Alliance system.
The application can work with Alliance Entry
in batch mode with limited functionality.
