Intra-Branch Routing Application (IBRS)

This application is designed to allow internal routing of messages received from a predefined destination to another destination. This is especially important for bank’s branches and affiliates sharing the same Alliance Access system.

Once a message is sent from a branch and targeting the other branch, it will be captured by the application, checked and acknowledged to the sending branch and forwarded as output message to the receiving branch.

This application runs on the Alliance Access and requires the Application Development Toolkit (ADK).

Connecting Financial Institutions Branches Together
Intra-Branch Routing Application (IBRS) is designed to handle SWIFT messages flowing between bank branches. IBRS is a SAA plug-in application based on SWIFT ADK (Automated Development Kit) and fully integrated with the Alliance Access system. This application is installed at the SAA server at the head office and will be customized to handle the traffic of each branch..

Concept
IBRS is designed to monitor and capture messages sent from an internal destination (branch, head office, financial institution or any BIC8 or BIC11 sharing the Alliance Interface) and targeting another internal destination within the system. Messages targeting external destinations (bank’scorrespondents) will continue their route to SWIFT as defined in the system.

The branch can create, modify, verify and authorize its messages as usual. The IBRS monitors the authorization queue, captures the messages targeting other internal destinations and meeting predefined criteria and route them to a specific queue for special handling.

Functionality
Depending on the bank’s requirements, the application checks the captured messages and:

  • Returns an acknowledgement to the sending destination

  • Builds and sends an output message to the targeted receiver destination

Both the sending and receiving destinations can check and monitor their messages in the Message File Application.

Application Platform
IBRS and IBRS-C run on the Alliance Access system in real-time mode. They use the SWIFT Application Development Toolkit (ADK Runtime) component. These applications can be installed on the same machine of the Alliance system.
