Regional Conference in Dubai
AEG had the honor to exhibit in the SWIFT
Regional Conference in the Middle East which was held from the 1st
till the 3rd of March, 2010 in Dubai – the United Arab
Emirates at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
The global financial crisis has imposed
severe financial constraints on the financial industry globally.
Changes in market conditions drive a very different economic climate
which places emphasis on the importance on risk management and cost
reduction. To this end, the theme for this year’s conference was
‘Managing risk and cost in today’s economy.”
Many questions were explored during the
conference through an array of plenary and work sessions.
The opening session was titled “SWIFT
essentials” which was a good session for newcomers to the SWIFT
community and it provided an essential guide to SWIFT.
Then it was followed by a “Meet the
partners” session to highlight the importance of SWIFT partners who
play a key role in helping customers to get the most from the
investment in SWIFT. During this session AEG, as a regional partner
for SWIFT in the Middle East and Africa presented its latest
solutions such as software applications, consultancy services,
trainings, data communication and networking services in addition to
the service bureau connectivity solutions.
In addition to that there were roundtable
sessions entitled “the future of remittances in the GCC”, “Managing
risk and reducing cost”, “Challenges and opportunities for the
corporate treasurer”.
As well many work sessions were running
and also special interest sessions were imposing many topics:
“Payments Market Infrastructure in the Middle East” “how to achieve
security efficiency in the Middle East?”
AEG was working to the success of this
regional conference by inviting banks and financial institutions in
the Middle East and Africa to join the conference in Dubai, where it
was noticed the presence of around 200 attendees.
At the end many new strategies were shown
and enlightened and new key solutions were presented in order to be
ready for the new challenges in the Middle East and Gulf region.
